How to Use the Image Splitter

Follow these steps to split your image into tiles with the Image Splitter tool:

  1. Upload a photo — tap the upload box, drag & drop, or paste an image (Ctrl+V) into the Image Splitter.
  2. Pick a layout — choose a ready-made grid (2×2, 3×3, rows, columns) or set a custom number of rows and columns.
  3. Fine-tune (optional) — add spacing between tiles, rotate or flip the image, enlarge the output size, or set a custom file name under Advanced customization.
  4. Split & download — tap "Split Image(s)", preview every tile, then download individual pieces, selected tiles, or all tiles at once as a ZIP file.

What Can You Use Image Splitter For?

The Image Splitter tool is useful anywhere you need to divide one picture into multiple pieces:

  • Instagram grid posts — split a single photo into a 3×3 grid for a multi-post Instagram layout.
  • Photo puzzles & games — cut an image into a custom grid to create your own jigsaw-style puzzle.
  • Printing large images — split a poster or banner into rows or columns sized for standard paper, then print and tape the tiles together.
  • Social media carousels — divide a wide photo or panorama into equal slides for a carousel post.
  • Sprite sheets & UI assets — slice a sprite sheet or icon set into individual grid tiles for development.
  • Comics & scanned pages — split scanned spreads or long comic strips into individual panels or pages.

Why Use This Image Splitter?

100% private: the Image Splitter never uploads your photos — every split happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API, so your images stay on your device.

Works everywhere: the Image Splitter is optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop, with large touch-friendly controls and no installation required.
Flexible formats: upload PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, or BMP images, and export tiles as PNG (with transparency) or JPG.
